This is applicable for different types of sports like long-distance running, swimming, biking, triathlon, football, volleyball and even Filipinos’ favorite sport, basketball. “Petroleum jelly is used for lubrication and chafing prevention in sensitive areas where there’s constant contact between skin, skin and clothing and footwear. It provides a barrier that prevents it from causing irritation in the skin even, having an abrasion from the repetitive rubbing,” he shared. “For example, when doing a fun run, 10K run or full marathon, you can use petroleum jelly in particular areas around the foot (the heels and between the toes) to help prevent the formation of blisters.
